Rappin' Max Robot by Eric Orr - Figure by LBO

The unique styles of Hip-Hop art, fashion, and music have been American exports for 50 years. Hip-Hop culture has traveled from the streets of New York to the entire world, cross-pollinating, evolving, and integrating into everyday lifestyles.

Many companies have seen the value of this culture appearing in collectibles over the decades, from when Michael Lau released his first designer toy figures in the late 90s to Funko and Super 7 releasing figures celebrating famous Hip-Hop artists in their signature platform styles. Very few companies, however, have actually been helmed by artists of the culture themselves.

Enter LBO Collective – an independent toy company comprised of veterans, not just of collectibles and entertainment, but also Hip-Hop itself. Their first project captures their mission to celebrate an artist and their work that occurred at a seminal moment in both 80s Hip-Hop and fine art history.
